If you’re a baby boomer—or simply a lover of great music and storytelling—you may remember the rich voice and soul of Theo Bikel, whose songs and performances left an indelible mark on generations.

Theo Meir Bikel (1924–2015) was an Academy, Emmy, Tony, and Grammy–nominated actor and folksinger; a lifelong advocate for civil rights, peace, and Jewish culture; and a dedicated labor leader. He originated the role of Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music on Broadway and portrayed Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof more than any actor in history. As co-founder of the Newport Folk Festival with Pete Seeger, Theo recorded dozens of beloved albums in multiple languages and inspired audiences worldwide.

Come celebrate his remarkable life and the enduring power of song and story.
