Saplings Chavurah for Families with Young Children

Ner Shalom's Saplings Chavurah provides space for families with young kids to be together, mostly out in nature, enjoying Shabbat and community. The families of Saplings have hiked together at Crane Creek, Helen Putnam Regional Park, and Sonoma Mountain Reserve. The hikes include Jewish storytelling about approaching holidays, involving puppetry and song. Saplings also offers children's services for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

In 2017 Saplings will, in addition to nature hikes, offer periodic Shabbat morning family services, and parent conversations about raising Jewish children in Jewishly-diffuse Sonoma County, and about how to hold Judaism and our children in our often interfaith households.
