Blake Pepper- Tunick
11-05-05

Hi, my name is Blake Pepper- Tunick and I will becoming a Bar Mitzvah on November 5, 2005. I have a mom, Pam, a dad, Michael and a younger brother named Evan who is nine years old. I also have a dog named Yophie and a cat named George. I like to play soccer, basketball and I love to snow ski.

When I was in the 5th grade, my teacher nominated me to participate in the Striking Sparks Program, which is part of the Sonoma County Astronomical Society. The contest's prize is a 5 1/2- inch wide telescope. In this contest, you must write an essay on why you deserve a telescope. I was one of the ten winners out of 85 contestants.

I am in 8th grade now, currently attending Creekside Middle School in Rohnert Park. Next school year, I plan on attending Technology High School, which is on the Sonoma State University campus.

For my Tikkun Olam project, I joined a volunteer team called Landpaths. Landpaths was founded in 1996 and is about assisting in healing the land of Sonoma County. We went out to West Sonoma County Coastline where the view of the ocean was beautiful and created paths for a land that will hopefully become a National Park. It was hard work, but worth the experience.

I look forward to seeing you on
November 5, but until then...

B'Shalom,
Blake
