bnai mitzvah

Michelle Lazar - April 16, 2005

I am Michelle Lazar. I will be thirteen years old on April 9, 2004. I live with my parents Ellyn and Wayne Lazar in Windsor, CA. My parents adopted me when I was three years old. I have two older sisters, Heather and Amber, and a younger brother Brandon, who live with their adopted parents. I love getting together with them.

I am a seventh-grader at Windsor Middle School. I love to make all kinds of art projects. My favorite art projects include drawing, designing and making clubhouses, and designing and sewing costumes. I design costumes which I like in my favorite movies, such as Princess Tiger Lily in "Peter Pan".

I also love animals. I have a miniature poodle which we adopted from the pound seven years ago, named Pierre, and a goldfish which we won at the fair, named Goldie White (she's white and orange).I am hoping to get two baby tortoises for my Bat Mitzvah. I have been researching how to care of tortoises.

For my Tikkun Olam project, I worked as a program assistant at the North Sonoma County Girl Scout Day Camp. In June, I spent twelve hours training at Two Rock Coast Guard Station. In August, I spent five days and one evening helping first grade Brownies. We played games and made art projects. I also spent a day helping in the outdoor kitchen and lead 185 girl scouts in camp songs.

I am looking forward to my Bat Mitzvah. I have worked very hard to learn my Hebrew. Additionally I am looking forward to becoming a mother to two baby tortoises.
