Job Description: Director of Jewish Student Life, Hillel of Sonoma County
Position Available (Part [0.5 to 0.75] Time plus fringe benefits):

Duties: The Director of Jewish Student Life will help develop and communicate the richness, diversity and pluralism of Jewish campus life to the campus community. He or she will provide strategic vision, innovative programming, and professional management to increase student participation in Hillel. The Director will aid in developing additional financial support for the organization from alumni as well as from members of the Sonoma County Jewish community and from new sources of funding.
Programming:

1. Develop and work with student leadership in program design, marketing and evaluation.
2. Recruit, train and supervise Koret Student Interns.
3. Recruit and develop follow-up programming for "birthright israel" in Sonoma County.
4. Oversee and manage Hillel programming.

Board and Community Relations:

1. Work under direction of the Sonoma County Hillel Board.
2. Develop Hillel relationships with community religious and lay leadership.
3. Represent Hillel to the Sonoma State University and Santa Rosa Junior College campuses, as well as the greater Sonoma County community.
4. Develop relationships with administration and faculties of both schools.

Fundraising/Budget:

1. Work with Hillel board to develop annual budget and manage expenses.
2. Work with the Hillel board and lead resource development efforts for Hillel of Sonoma County:
1. Direct mail appeals
2. Community fundraising
3. Alumni and parent fundraising

Qualifications: Candidates who have training and/or professional experience in working with Jewish students in the college environment, or in the leadership of Jewish organizations are urged to apply. The ideal candidate will be able to provide a balanced combination of: 1) programming skill with college-age Jewish men and women, 2) ability to run an entrepreneurial organization and 3) a high degree of Jewish commitment and knowledge. Bachelor's degree required.
